Lonergan Partners is pleased to announce that Jim Trent has been named Vice President and General Manager–Business Line Microcontrollers at NXP Semiconductors. The search was led by Dotty Schaffer.

About Jim

Prior to joining NXP, Jim was the Vice President, Automotive Business Unit at Renesas Electronics America Inc. offering solutions based on MCUs/MPUs, PowerFETs, Intelligent Power Devices (IPD), Mixed Signal, and Software products. Jim has more than 26 years of experience in leading engineers and senior managers. Jim started his career in 1985 at Motorola in which he held various progressive management positions. While at Motorola, he led the definition and development of the powertrain power PC product line, authored more than 16 published articles and was awarded a U.S. patent. Jim joined NEC Electronics America in 2003 and became General Manager in 2004, Associate Vice President in 2006 and Vice President in 2008.

Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Kansas State University, where he graduated with honors.
