Lonergan Partners is a sponsor of the Silicon Valley Directors Exchange, or SVDX, formerly known as the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (SVNACD). The mission of the SVDX is to provide a forum for education and conversation about current, relevant issues facing Boards of Directors in Silicon Valley companies. Mark Lonergan is Chairman of the Board as well as outgoing President of SVDX, as well as having served as Vice President for SVNACD since from 2010 to 2013. In addition, Lonergan Partners has hosted many events on board governance for the SVNACD, including a panel of public company board chairmen to talk about Board Member Performance in September, 2010. Entrepreneurship Roundtable

Lonergan Partners is proud to sponsor the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship at Purdue University. Since 2004, Lonergan Partners has helped companies incubated by Purdue University with workshops, Silicon Valley investor visits, and business development efforts. In conjunction with The Purdue Research Foundation, we have sponsored “The Purdue Entrepreneurship Roundtable,” a special networking event in the Silicon Valley showcasing early stage companies incubated by Purdue. The event brings together Silicon Valley investors and business executives with Purdue entrepreneurs, faculty and staff to network and learn more about Purdue’s extensive company formation efforts. Over 140 companies have been formed as a result of these efforts, a number of which have gone on to receive funding and support as a consequence of this vibrant relationship.

 

The Tech Museum of Innovation

Lonergan Partners is pleased to support The Tech Museum and its mission of engaging people of all ages and backgrounds in science and technology experiences that educate, inform, provoke thought and inspire action. In 2010, Lonergan Partners placed Alana Connor, Ph.D. as Vice President and Head Curator of The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, California. Alana came to The Tech from the Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR), a Stanford University magazine where she was a science writer and editor. Alana earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Yale University, a doctorate in cultural psychology from Stanford University, and a postdoctoral certificate in health psychology from the University of California.

Placement: Julie Goonewardene, Board of Governors

In 2009, Lonergan Partners placed Julie Goonewardene onto the Board of Governors of The Kinsey Institute. The Kinsey Institute at Indiana University promotes interdisciplinary research and scholarship in the fields of human sexuality, gender, and reproduction. Julie is an experienced entrepreneur who currently serves as associate vice chancellor for innovation and entrepreneurship at Kansas University. Julie’s interests at The Kinsey Institute include the prevention of AIDS and support of new mothers.

 

Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation logo

Type of Support: Donated Search Proceeds

In 2004, Lonergan Partners donated the proceeds of a search project to the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation. The search was to place a director onto the Board of Nextance. Nextance is a global leader in helping organizations more effectively and efficiently manage critical contract lifecycle activities and improve partner relationships.The search resulted in raising $50,000 for the Foundation.
